BookFLIX
BookFLIX is an easy to use site that allows teachers, parents and students to read books and watch videos that relate to the books. This site requires a username and password, but it is simple enough to make. Once you have a login, you are free to access the categories of book choices. There are six categories under 'Get Smart!', and three categories under 'Fun to Know!'. Under each category readers can choose from a selection of books appropriate for elementary age students. This is a wonderful site for everyone to visit. It allows students to learn about a topic from a video as well as read about it. It is easy to use and a fun way to learn.
Speakaboos
Speakaboos is a book site online that allows students to read an assortment of books at the elementary school level. This site requires a username and password, but it is simple enough to make. Once you have a login, you are free to access the categories of book choices. The site gives you recommendations of books to read. It has a large assortment of books to choose from. There is a bar on the side of the page that allows you to narrow a search to find books that will fit what you are looking for. It will also track the time you or your class spends reading each day, week, month, or you can customize it. I would recommend this site to teachers to use in elementary school classrooms.
Epic!
Epic is a site where educators can read elementary level picture books and use them in the classroom. This site sorts their books by collections, recommendations, and by collections. There are tons of books to choose from. There are books that almost all grade levels would enjoy reading. his site requires a username and password, but it is simple enough to make. Once you have a login, you are free to access the categories of book choices. I think that this site is super easy to use, and it fun for students and teachers alike. I would recommend using this book site as a teacher.
